Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is seeking Positive Support Specialists for Intensive Community Residential Services (ICRS). This part-time role includes a 50-cent increase after six months of satisfactory attendance and a $2,500 hiring bonus paid in two installments.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand, squat, bend, or walk for long periods; must lift up to 50 lbs.
• Minimum education is a high school diploma; degree in a related field preferred.
• Knowledge of local community resources is a plus.
• Must pass a Bureau of Criminal Affairs (BCA) background study and have a valid driver’s license; Motor Vehicle Check (MVR) required.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals to be more independent in life skills (meal prep, hygiene, community navigation).
• Advocate for individuals in rights, medical care, and community access.
• Complete documentation and maintain records every shift.
• Manage crisis situations safely (possible use of manual restraints) with training provided.
• Engage in trauma-informed care daily.
