Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is seeking Positive Support Specialists for our Intensive Community Residential Services (ICRS) programs. This 10 p.m. - 8 a.m.

position focuses on aiding individuals with complex medical, behavioral, and mental health needs using a person-centered approach to help achieve goals while ensuring safety. You will assist with daily living skills, advocate for rights and care, document every shift, and manage crises as trained.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; degree in a related field preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience with people with complex needs; 3–5 years preferred.
• Must pass a Bureau of Criminal Affairs background check and have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals to be more independent in essential life skills (meal prep, hygiene, community navigation).
• Advocate for people supported in rights, medical care, and community involvement.
• Complete necessary documentation and record-keeping every shift.
• Manage crisis situations safely; possible use of manual restraints; training provided with PBIS and 245D requirements.
• Engage in trauma-informed care daily.
