Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is seeking Positive Support Specialists to support individuals with intensive medical, behavioral and mental health needs within ICRS programs. You will help participants engage in meaningful activities at home and in the community, using a person-centered approach to reach personal goals.

Responsibilities include promoting independence in daily tasks, advocating for rights and medical care, documenting every shift, and managing crises with proper training.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a variety of individuals.
• Must be able to stand, squat, bend or walk for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Knowledge of local community resources is a plus.
• Must pass BCA background check and have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals to be more independent in daily life activities.
• Advocate for participants' rights and medical needs in the community.
• Complete documentation and record-keeping every shift.
• Manage crisis situations safely, with training in Positive Behavioral Supports.
• Engage in trauma-informed care daily.
