Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is seeking Positive Support Specialists to work in Intensive Community Residential Services programs. The role focuses on supporting individuals with complex medical, behavioral, and mental health needs using a person-centered approach.

Responsibilities include promoting independence in daily skills, advocating for rights and medical care, documenting each shift, and safely managing crises, with training in Positive Behavioral Supports and emergency

Formación

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a variety of individuals.
• Must be physically able to stand, squat, bend, or walk for long periods; able to lift 50 lbs.
• Background check clearance and a valid driver’s license with MVR.
• Experience with people with complex needs preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Assist individuals to be more independent in life skills and community navigation.
• Advocate for individuals in rights, medical care, and community involvement.
• Complete documentation and records every shift.
• Manage crisis situations safely, including possible use of restraints with training.
• Engage in trauma-informed daily care.
