Job summary

The Philadelphia Museum of Art is seeking a Safety & Protection Services Manager to oversee occupational safety, security operations, and emergency preparedness across its facilities. You will lead inspections, investigations, and training to maintain a safe environment for staff, visitors, contractors, and the collection.

Reporting to the Director of Protection Services, you will coordinate with HR, Facilities, Finance, and technology staff, develop plans and reports, and drive risk-management

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience developing and maintaining safety programs for a large institution.
• Ability to advise management on compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Knowledge of security electronics and coordination with IT/Tech for system improvements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate occupational health and safety programs and maintain documentation.
• Conduct workplace inspections, identify hazards, and monitor corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and local fire/safety codes.
• Investigate injuries, near misses, and safety complaints; document findings.
• Coordinate safety matters with Protection Services, HR, Facilities, and Finance.
• Support workers’ compensation documentation and injury-prevention initiatives.
• Develop and deliver workplace-safety, fire-safety, evacuation, and emergency-planning training.
• Plan and evaluate drills and after-action reviews; track corrective actions.
• Provide guidance on safety, environment protection, and emergency response.
