Job summary

Philadelphia Museum of Art seeks a Safety & Protection Services Manager to lead occupational safety, fire safety, and security programs across the museum facilities. You will oversee inspections, incident investigations, training, and emergency planning to ensure a safe environment for staff, visitors, volunteers, and contractors.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualification requires the ability to provide occupational and workplace-safety instruction.
• Advise management on compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Significant knowledge of security electronics and ability to address failures with IT staff.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Five years of experience in occupational safety, security operations, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate occupational health and safety programs and maintain documentation.
• Conduct workplace inspections and recommend corrective actions.
• Investigate injuries, near misses, and safety complaints; document findings.
• Coordinate safety with Protection Services, HR, Facilities, Finance, and Risk Management.
• Develop and deliver workplace-safety, fire-safety, evacuation, and emergency-preparedness training.
• Plan and evaluate fire drills and emergency exercises; track corrective actions.
• Coordinate access-control and video-surveillance systems with technology staff.
