Job summary

Vertex Pharmaceuticals Inc is seeking a Supervisor, Manufacturing Operations to lead overnight and shift manufacturing activities. You will assign work based on schedules and plans, oversee cGMP operations including equipment setup, and ensure accurate documentation through batch records.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a science/engineering field with 6+ years’ experience or equivalent, plus supervisory experience and familiarity with aseptic manufacturing and MES systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, technical or engineering discipline with 6+ years of experience or equivalent combination.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Prior cell therapy and aseptic manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily manufacturing operations.
• Assign work to shift personnel based on production schedules and plans.
• Oversee cGMP manufacturing activities including equipment setup, operation, disassembly and cleaning.
• Execute and witness batch record instructions to ensure compliant docs.
• Perform real-time batch record review on the floor.
• Interface with cross-functional teams to support facility operations and maintenance.
• Monitor GMP compliance for personnel and activities in the Drug Product facility.
• Maintain audit-ready facility by following procedures and documentation standards.
• Lead and participate in Tier 0 and Tier 1 meetings.
