Job summary

University Behavioral Health of Denton is seeking an Intake Counselor to provide telephonic and in-person risk assessments and coordinate referral and intake processes in a psychiatric hospital setting. The role involves facilitating admissions and communicating with referral sources, families, patients, and unit staff.

The position requires working overnight (9pm–7am, Monday–Thursday) and may involve obtaining insurance benefits verifications and prior authorizations as needed.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in psychology, social work or related field preferred.
• Currently licensed to practice as LPC-Intern, LPC, LMSW, LCSW or RN in the State of Texas.
• Experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide telephonic and in-person risk assessment to assist physicians in identification of appropriate level of care.
• Coordinate referral and intake process and facilitate the admission process.
• Verify and prior authorization of insurance benefits as needed.
