Job summary

University Behavioral Health of Denton is a private freestanding psychiatric hospital serving North Texas. The Care Center Intake Specialist assists in receiving, scheduling and referring inquiry calls and coordinates assessments and insurance information.

This PRN role supports admission coordination, pre-certifications and communication with clinicians and the business office to ensure a smooth transition into the admission process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human-related field preferred.
• Experience working in a hospital intake department or business office preferred.
• C.N.A. preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive referral calls, obtain minimal demographic information, and refer the call to the appropriate source or schedule an assessment.
• Process all requests for information and external referrals.
• Completes pre-certifications as needed.
• Assist in arranging for admission of patients, including alerting the business office staff to begin the verification of benefits, initiating calls to physicians and other related tasks as directed by the Case Manager.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Human-related field preferred
