Job summary

University Behavioral Health of Denton is seeking an Intake Counselor to provide telephonic and in-person risk assessments, assisting physicians in identifying the appropriate level of care for potential patients. You will be the first contact for referral sources and patients, coordinate referrals and the intake process, and facilitate admissions while communicating with families, patients and unit staff.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in psychology, social work or related field preferred.
• 1–3 years in a psychiatric healthcare facility preferred.
• Currently licensed or eligible to practice as LPC-Intern, LPC, LMSW, LCSW or RN in Texas.

Responsibilities

• Provide telephonic and in-person risk assessments to identify level of care.
• Coordinate referral, intake and admission processes with referral sources, families and staff.
• Verify and obtain insurance benefits and prior authorizations as needed.
