Job summary

The Grand Hotel Golf Resort & Spa in Point Clear, AL is seeking a Gate Attendant for part-time, on-site work at the front gate. You will greet guests, control access, and provide helpful directions to ensure a smooth arrival experience.

As an independent role, you will operate radio communications, verify reservations, and coordinate with security and hotel staff to maintain safety and hospitality standards.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal communication skills and a guest-service focused demeanor.
• Ability to work independently and remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable using two-way radio systems for professional communication.
• Basic computer proficiency to look up and verify reservation details.
• Strong attention to detail and awareness for safety/security practices.
• Previous hospitality, security, or customer service experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Warm welcome: Greet guests and visitors with a friendly and professional demeanor to create an inviting first impression.
• Information Resource: Provide clear directions and information about hotel amenities, facilities, and services.
• Access Control: Monitor and manage incoming traffic, allowing entry only to authorized vehicles, including guests, members, and approved visitors.
• Security & Verification: Adhere to established security protocols by verifying the identity and purpose of those entering the property.
• Guest Assistance: Address inquiries regarding parking, venue locations, and general hotel policies with attentiveness and care.
• Efficient Traffic Flow: Manage peak arrival times with composure, ensuring smooth and orderly vehicle access.
• Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with security personnel and other departments via radio to uphold safety and service standards.
• Computer Use: Operate the gatehouse computer to verify reservation details, track arrivals, and provide accurate guest information.
• Observation & Reporting: Remain alert for any unusual activity, promptly notifying the appropriate personnel of security concerns.
• Effective Communication: Relay important information clearly to guests, visitors, and team members to enhance overall efficiency.
