Job summary

Meijer in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a store leadership professional to plan, direct and supervise day-to-day operations across departments. You’ll mentor team members, drive customer service, and ensure product presentation and adherence to Meijer standards.

Responsibilities include staffing and hiring, promoting development, managing P&L and shrink, training staff, and delivering Meijer’s Friendly Initiative.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of retail experience.
• At least 1 year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in store areas are helpful.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to achieve staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning by providing career paths and development needs for the team.
• Documents and applies disciplinary actions and makes discharge recommendations.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Communicates the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and conversations.
• Mentor team members to ensure service and sales goals are exceeded and area meets Meijer standards.
• Ensures the team is thoroughly trained in all aspects of their jobs and completes required training.
• Spend majority of time in-store communicating with customers and team members to deliver exceptional service.
