Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a Dock Worker to transport freight across dock areas and load freight to trailers. Responsibilities include operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, and verifying documentation for accuracy and safety.

Starting rate is $27.02 per hour with a pay range of $27.02–$32.17 per hour. The role requires adherence to regulations, quality control, and customer service as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing and forklift experience preferred.
• If hostler/yard mule duties required, experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate motorized and manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck) to move freight.
• Verify freight documentation matches description and weight, including hazardous materials.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
