FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a dock worker to move freight between trailers and dock areas, aiding loading and unloading operations. You will operate or assist with forklifts, pallet jacks and hand trucks, verify freight documents, secure loads, and support customers as needed.

Starting rate is $27.63 per hour, with a range to $32.93. Benefits include health, vision and dental insurance, paid time off, 401(k) and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling and/or forklift operations experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight of varying weights several times per week and to lift dock plates weighing ~100 pounds, with up to 75 pounds lift force on trailer doors.
• Ability to bend, twist, squat, and push/pull freight throughout shift.
• Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
• Previous dock/warehouse experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Move freight between dock areas and trailers using forklifts and hand trucks.
• Verify freight type, weight, and documentation for accuracy.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and paperwork as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Follow laws, regulations, and company policies.
