Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Maintenance Technician IV for our Madison, WI site. You will operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and automated packaging equipment, with emphasis on reliability and safety.

The role requires hands-on expertise with CMMS work orders, preventive maintenance, and documentation to GMP standards. You’ll work three 12-hour overnight shifts and support on-call emergencies as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electrical or mechanical maintenance or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years in building maintenance or mechanical repair.
• Experience with hand tools, multi-meters, and testing equipment.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and diagrams.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Proficient with MS Word/Excel/Outlook.
• Good documentation and SOP adherence.
• EPA Refrigeration certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.).
• Manage spare parts and minimize downtime.
• Enter and close work orders in CMMS; review completed orders.
• Perform preventive and demand maintenance with proper documentation.
• Support automated packaging and process equipment maintenance.
• Conduct regular building inspections and respond to outages and alarms.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, OSHA, FDA, USDA and EHS requirements.
• Provide technical support for building infrastructure and systems.
