Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Maintenance Technician, HVACR IV in Madison, WI. You will install, service, repair, and maintain HVACR and refrigeration systems across multiple facilities, including complex DDC-controlled equipment.

Responsibilities include reviewing plans, testing components, and maintaining GMP documentation. The role requires extensive hands-on HVACR experience, EPA-608 certification, and the ability to work overtime, nights, or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent plus HVACR apprenticeship
• 7+ years in commercial/industrial HVACR role
• 5+ years with packaged equipment up to 100 tons and CRAC/VAV systems
• 5+ years with facility software tools (BAS/CMMS/CAFM)
• EPA-608 Universal Refrigeration License required
• Valid driver’s license in good standing
• Ability to travel 10% between Madison locations

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, operate, and repair HVACR and refrigeration systems.
• Review plans, drawings, and MEP specifications to determine equipment sizing and location.
• Diagnose systems, calibrate controls, and monitor environmental conditions.
• Provide technical support for automated equipment and GMP documentation.
• Respond to service calls and perform preventive maintenance inspections.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs and regulatory standards (GMP, OSHA, FDA, USDA).
