Job summary

Georgia-Pacific LLC in Albany, GA seeks an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to join the Maintenance team. The role involves troubleshooting, calibrating, and installing electrical, instrumentation and automation systems across plant equipment.

You will work with PLC/SCADA/DCS, and support on-call needs to ensure continuous operation of corrugated box production lines. Ideal candidates have strong experience with electrical diagrams, safety standards, and industrial controls.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of electrical or instrumentation troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience troubleshooting industrial controls PLCs, motor controls, control valves, electrical distribution, Servo Controlled Systems, and both DC and AC motors ranging in voltages from 24 VDC to 480 VDC.
• Expert level experience reading and following electrical and mechanical schematics/ blueprints.
• Knowledge of electrical hazards and safety procedures including NFPA 70 arc flash and OSHA regulations.
• Experience installing, calibrating, monitoring, modifying, programming, and maintaining HMI and DCS control instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair, perform preventative maintenance, calibration, and installation of plant electrical, electronic, instrumentation and automation equipment.
• Use specialized software to maintain instrumentation, PLCs and electrical systems.
• Install, calibrate, monitor, modify, program, and maintain PLC, HMI and DCS control instrumentation.
• Work with low-med-high voltage systems, AC/DC motors, transformers, drives and related components.
• Read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics and drawings.
• Use testers to maintain motors, drives and instrumentation.
• Update hardware to improve interface between automation and operations.
• Operate and train staff on HMI and robotics controls.
• Maintain equipment monitoring flow, temperature, density and pressure sensors.
• Manage EI projects for new or existing installations.
