Job summary

Georgia-Pacific Corrugated in Albany, GA seeks an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to join the maintenance team. The role starts at $46+/hour depending on experience, with an overnight 8-hour shift and possible day-call rotation.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting and maintenance of electrical, instrumentation, PLC, HMI and DCS systems, installation and calibration, and supporting EI&A projects. Extensive reading of schematics and safety compliance required.

Qualifications

5+ years electrical/instrument troubleshooting in manufacturing.
Experience with PLCs, motor controls, valves, electrical distribution, servo systems, and DC/AC motors (24–480 V).
Expert in reading electrical & mechanical schematics/blueprints; strong safety awareness with NFPA 70 and OSHA standards.
Experience installing/calibrating and maintaining HMI and DCS instrumentation.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, repair, perform preventive maintenance, calibration and installation of plant EI equipment.
Use specialized software and tools to maintain instrumentation, PLCs, and electrical systems.
Install and calibrate PLC, HMI, DCS control instrumentation; program where needed.
Read electrical diagrams and modify hardware to optimize process control.
Operate and train on HMI/robotics controls; perform EI&A support plant-wide.
Mentor peers and provide EI&A guidance across areas of the plant.
