Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital Long Island is seeking an experienced Desktop Support Technician to join its Overnight Rapid Response team in Mineola, NY. You will provide hands-on support for end-user devices, clinical systems, printers, and mobile devices across the hospital, working independently during overnight hours to ensure uninterrupted patient care.

The role requires strong enterprise desktop support experience, familiarity with Active Directory, and a customer-service mindset.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of desktop support experience within a Windows 10/11 enterprise environment.
  • Strong break/fix troubleshooting skills across desktop, laptop, printer, and peripheral technologies.
  • Experience with hardware deployments, workstation refreshes, and operating system migrations.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory and Microsoft technologies.
  • Experience supporting mobile devices including iPhones and iPads.
  • Experience supporting network connectivity issues and basic LAN troubleshooting.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple support requests simultaneously.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service mindset and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently during overnight shifts.
  • Healthcare IT experience preferred.

NYU Langone Hospital Long Island is seeking an experienced Desktop Support Technician to join its Overnight Rapid Response team. This individual will provide hands-on technical support for end-user devices, clinical systems, printers, workstations, mobile devices, and network-connected equipment throughout the hospital environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong desktop support experience within large enterprise environments and be comfortable working independently during overnight hours while supporting mission-critical healthcare operations. This role requires a combination of technical troubleshooting expertise, customer service skills, hardware deployment experience, and the ability to respond quickly to end-user issues within established service level agreements.

  • Monitor system health and proactively identify technology issues before they impact users.
  • Document troubleshooting activities, resolutions, and technical findings within the ticketing system.
  • Maintain accurate asset inventory records and deployment documentation.
  • Assist with hardware rollouts, operating system upgrades, refresh initiatives, and technology projects.
  • Perform wire and cable management to ensure work areas remain organized and compliant with standards.
  • Capture before and after documentation of infrastructure and cable management work.
  • Provide one-on-one instruction and guidance to end users regarding hardware, software, and standard procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, networking, and application support teams when escalations are required.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies related to security, data privacy, and technology standards.
  • Meet ticket closure and response metrics while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in workstation audits, inventory validation, and asset lifecycle management activities.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
