Job summary

Meijer in Ohio is seeking an Area Leader to oversee engagement and performance for team members across the span of care in store operations. You will drive recognition, coaching, performance management, training and succession planning, while being accountable for area financials, safety, and scheduling.

You will direct Leads and Team Leaders, identify talent, and ensure adherence to Meijer standards. You will implement process improvements and foster an inclusive culture that supports customers

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• A passion to provide industry leading service.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members with clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial information and use it to decide.

Responsibilities

• Engages with team members in span of care to ensure onboarding, training and development, and coaching and feedback to be successful.
• Identifies talent and engages in career discussions to support store staffing and leadership pipelines.
• Involvement in candid discussions with team members to uphold Meijer standards and growth.
• Accountability for area operations and financial results by overseeing plans to maximize sales and productivity and owning budget items.
• Drives safety and compliance and manages overall store condition, following procedures.
• Ensures Leads and Team Leaders provide guidance and assign daily work and training needs.
• This profile may include other duties as assigned.
