Job summary

DayBreak is seeking a Care Support Specialist in Dayton, OH, to support YYAs experiencing homelessness. The role focuses on safety, trauma-informed care, life skills, and individualized treatment plan administration within a 24/7 facility.

You will facilitate groups, monitor progress, and collaborate with the clinical team to ensure holistic care and stability for residents through day-to-day operations and crisis intervention when needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 5 years in social services or related field.
• OR Associate’s degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, or related field with 2 years of experience.
• Experience with youth, homelessness preferred.

Responsibilities

• Foster a welcoming, trauma-informed residential environment.
• Support youth in daily living activities and life skills.
• Lead structured groups on coping skills and emotional regulation.
• Maintain clean, organized communal spaces.
• Assist with move-ins/outs and track schedules.
• Coordinate with case managers and clinical staff.
• Provide crisis intervention and safety support as needed.
