Daybreak Inc. in Dayton, OH is seeking a Care Support Specialist to support youth and young adults experiencing homelessness, fostering a safe, trauma-informed environment and delivering crisis intervention and supportive services.

The role emphasizes life skills development, collaboration with clinical staff, maintaining program guidelines, and assisting with daily living activities, move-ins/outs, and group sessions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School diploma or GED and five (5) years’ working experience in a social services, education, behavioral health, or similar setting required.
• OR Associate’s degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, or related field AND two (2) years of experience in a social services, education, behavioral health, or similar setting required.

Responsabilités

• Foster a welcoming, trauma-informed residential environment for YYAs and support daily living activities such as hygiene, housekeeping, time management, and meal preparation.
• Lead structured groups focused on coping skills, emotional regulation, life skills, and related topics; participate in client engagement and resident activities.
• Collaborate with case managers and clinical staff to ensure seamless coordination of services and adherence to treatment goals; support shift handovers.
• Monitor facility safety, conduct rounds, and respond to crises using de-escalation techniques; ensure secure environment and proper documentation.
• Complete intakes/terminations, document events in logs, and maintain client records per agency procedures and funder requirements (72-hour rule).
