Job summary

Daybreak in Dayton, Ohio, seeks a Care Support Specialist to assist YYAs experiencing homelessness by fostering a safe, supportive residential environment and promoting daily living skills. You will work with clinical staff to provide trauma‑informed care, lead group sessions, monitor progress, and respond to crises with de‑escalation techniques.

Evening and overnight shifts may be required. This role emphasizes collaboration, documentation, and maintaining a welcoming, secure space for youth

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and 5 years of experience in social services, education, behavioral health, or similar setting.
• Associate’s degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, or related field with 2 years of experience in social services, education, behavioral health, or similar setting.
• Minimum 2 years of direct work with youth and young adults; homelessness housing instability experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead structured groups focused on coping skills, emotional regulation, life skills.
• Assist with daily living activities and maintain a therapeutic environment.
• Coordinate with team and participate in client engagement and resident activities.
• Monitor facility spaces for safety and cleanliness, support move‑ins/outs, and track weekly schedules.
• Communicate with team and on‑call personnel to ensure continuity of care and program goals.

Education

High School diploma or GED + 5 years experience in social services or related field
