Job summary
The People Concern is seeking an Overnight Support Specialist for SOLAR Recuperative Care Center in Compton. This 100% onsite role supports individuals experiencing homelessness with medical needs, ensuring safety and cleanliness on the floor.
As first point of contact, you will engage clients, document incidents, and collaborate with the team to provide comprehensive care. A high school diploma and 1 year of related experience are required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 1 year of related experience.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to defuse tense situations.
- Ability to work independently and think critically.
- Professional conduct at all times and commitment to community empowerment.
- Familiarity with non-violent crisis intervention and trauma-informed care.
Responsibilities
- Be the first point-of-contact for client needs (phones, linens, water).
- Monitor floor and common areas for safety and cleanliness.
- Engage with clients, welcome them, and stay visible on the floor.
- Perform regular facility walk-throughs and ensure program guidelines.
- Document incidents and update HMIS; email shift updates.
- Develop trusting client relationships using client-centered approaches.
