Job summary

Eataly Downtown is seeking a Bread Baker to produce bread and focaccia for its bakery and retail operations in New York. You will follow authentic Italian recipes, manage proofing and baking, and ensure a clean production area.

This role reports to the Bakery Manager and requires overnight shift availability in a 24-hour bakery environment. The ideal candidate has 1+ year baker experience, basic math skills, and a strong work ethic with good communication and time management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of baker preparation experience.
• Basic math and measuring skills.
• Strong work ethic, communication and time management.
• Post-secondary culinary program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares bread, focaccia, rolls and other bread items for Eataly’s restaurants and retail operations.
• Follows proper proofing and baking techniques for each variety of bread.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary food production area according to Department of Health standards.
• Works towards mastering all shifts and production processes.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.
