Job summary

Nino Salvaggio International is seeking an Assistant Commissary Bakery Manager for our Troy, MI location to oversee overnight bakery operations and ensure quality, safety and productivity standards.

You will assist in directing production, training staff, managing inventory and coordinating with suppliers, while maintaining a clean, sanitary and customer-friendly department environment. Compensation is experience-based with ~50 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Six months related baking experience is required.
• Previous management experience is required.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to work overnights and weekends (shifts can begin as early as 5pm).
• Ability to work in extreme cold, wet, humid or hot conditions.
• Ability to convert measurements as needed to prepare recipes.
• Must be able to stand and/or walk for 8+ hour periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist in directing and supervising bakery functions to meet production and labor goals.
• Assist with directing workflow within the bakery and coordinate production activities.
• Assist with implementing new recipes and products.
• Develop associates through training, supervision, delegation and rewards/disciplina.
• Train and supervise associates on equipment safety and proper usage.
• Follow procedures for price marking, dating and restocking to ensure quality.
• Verify department merchandise against vendor invoices for quality.
• Assist with ordering and inventory control to ensure freshness and quality.
• Maintain clear communications across the organization.
• Uphold a clean, sanitary and attractive department image.
• Assist with department reports, administrative duties and paperwork.
• Other duties as assigned.
