Qualifications

• Food Management Certification is required.
• Previous bakery management experience is required.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to stand for eight or more hour periods.
• Knowledge of products carried in the bakery and differences among varieties.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise all bakery functions: production, pastries, and artisan breads.
• Identify problem areas and implement corrective action plans.
• Ensure adherence to cost control, customer service, merchandising, product quality, and sanitation standards.
• Verify receiving, dating, price marking and restocking according to procedures.
• Check merchandise against vendor invoices for quality and accuracy.
• Maintain clear communications within the store and organization.
• Develop associates through training, supervision and recognition.
• Maintain a clean, attractive department and prompt customer service.
• Schedule staff and manage time and attendance records per guidelines.
• Submit reports and results in a timely manner.
• Train staff on safe use of department equipment.
• Motivate staff to achieve sales, cost control and service goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
