Job summary

Everwell's Port St Lucie Hospital is seeking an Admissions Clerk- Overnight to support patient intake in a behavioral health setting. You will verify insurance, complete pre-certifications, process faxed materials, and coordinate with nursing and admissions staff to ensure accurate, timely documentation.

This role requires a high school diploma, 1–3 years healthcare experience, and a commitment to HIPAA and patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of healthcare experience preferred, ideally in behavioral health.
• Experience with insurance verification and pre-certification processes preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and third-party reimbursement programs.
• Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive, review, and process incoming electronic and faxed admissions documents
• Verify insurance coverage and communicate information to nursing and admissions teams
• Complete insurance pre-certifications and document outcomes accurately
• Maintain accurate documentation and properly close out S-Faxes
• Time-stamp and organize incoming documentation
• Assist with hospital codes and emergency situations as needed
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA standards
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
• Support departmental projects and additional administrative duties as assigned
