• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-3 years healthcare experience preferred, ideally in behavioral health or mental health.
• Experience with insurance verification and pre-certification processes preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and third-party reimbursement programs.
• Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive, review, and process incoming electronic and faxed admissions documents.
• Verify insurance coverage and communicate information to nursing and admissions teams.
• Complete insurance pre-certifications and document outcomes accurately.
• Maintain accurate documentation and properly close out S-Faxes.
• Time-stamp and organize incoming documentation.
• Assist with hospital codes and emergency situations as needed.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA standards.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
• Support departmental projects and additional administrative duties as assigned.
