Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC is seeking a Class A Lineman in Abingdon, VA. The role focuses on constructing and repairing overhead distribution systems, with work on energized and de-energized lines and potential travel to out-of-state sites as needed. You will report to the Foreman and work outdoors in varied conditions.

The position emphasizes safety, live-line techniques, and teamwork, with opportunities to train apprentices and lead crews when necessary.

Qualifications

• Five years of overhead line experience.
• Valid CDL required.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Willing to work outside normal hours, including weekends and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction, maintenance and repair of overhead distribution systems.
• Lead crew in absence of the Employee in Charge and conduct safety briefings.
• Train and mentor apprentices and groundmen.
• Install and repair overhead lines, poles, insulators, conductors and hardware.
• Live-line work using gloves and hot-stick techniques, including fault locating.
