Job summary

Pike Electric LLC is seeking a Class A Lineman in Abingdon, VA. The role focuses on constructing and repairing transmission systems on energized and de-energized lines, with travel to various sites as needed. You will report to the Foreman and must pass safety protocols and be willing to work outages and on-call rotations.

Five years of transmission line experience and a valid CDL are required. Expect to operate heavy equipment, climb structures and work in extreme outdoor conditions across

Qualifications

• Five years of recent transmission line experience.
• Valid CDL.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds.
• Work at multiple locations, including out of state.
• Work outside hours, weekends, holidays, emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Construct, maintain and repair energized and de-energized transmission systems.
• Lead crew in absence of supervisor; conduct pre-job safety briefings.
• Train apprentices and ground workers.
• Install and repair overhead lines, poles, insulators and hardware.
• Operate and maintain transmission line equipment.
• Work outdoors in varying weather and environments.
• Be available for outages, storms and on-call rotations.
