Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC in Clarksville, TN is seeking a Class A Lineman for construction, maintenance and repair of overhead distribution systems. The role may require travel to other states based on customer demands and project needs.

You will lead crew members in absence of Foreman, install transformers, switches and crossarms, climb structures, and work safely around energized lines. Strong English skills, CDL preferred, and ability to lift 50 lbs are expected.

Qualifications

• 5-year minimum of field experience.
• Able to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Able to obtain Commercial Driver’s License within 60 days of employment.
• CDL preferred.
• Able to travel long distances on short notice.
• Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
• Willing to work overtime when requested.

Responsibilities

• Performs new construction, maintenance or repair on energized and de-energized overhead lines.
• Capable of leading crew in Foreman’s absence.
• Strings overhead wire; sets poles and anchors.
• Installs transformers, arrestors, crossarms, insulators, switches and switchgear.
• Troubleshoots primary and secondary systems; replaces cutout fuses and clears faults.
• Works with energized high voltage systems and follows safety procedures to protect lives.
• Maintains company vehicles, equipment and tools; performs rigorous physical labor.
• Reads job prints/work orders to plan safe work.
