Job summary

5 Star Electric, LLC is seeking an Overhead Distribution Lineman – C Class to join our Kentucky team. The role involves working with Groundman/Apprentice and handling energized lines, with strong emphasis on safety and outdoor operation in diverse terrain.

Responsibilities include pole work, wiring, transformer connections, and responding to service orders, with on-call duties after hours and potential storm overtime.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of lineman experience or equivalent hours.
• Valid State Driver License.
• Valid Class A CDL and current medical examiner card.
• Pass criminal and MVR background checks and pre-employment drug screen.
• OSHA 10-hour Safety Training completed within 60 days.
• Completion of formal training program or at least four years of verifiable experience including three years of energized work.
• Ability to travel and potential overtime including storm work.
• Must work outdoors in diverse terrain and all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Thorough knowledge of methods, practices and equipment of electrical line work.
• Thorough knowledge of hazards of electrical work and necessary safety precautions.
• Climb poles and perform strenuous duties in various weather conditions.
• Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively.
• Operate service truck and read data from meter dials.
• Digs holes and sets poles for electrical lines; string wire on new construction or repairs.
• Sets and connects transformers and other distribution equipment.
• Responds to work orders for disconnections, reconnections, new orders and public works service.
• Maintain tools and equipment; on-call after hours; promote safety standards.
