Job summary

MasTec Utility Services is seeking an OHE Lineman A in Apex, NC to assist Journeyman Lineman and Foreman while training in the trade. The role involves construction and maintenance of poles and power lines for reliable electricity distribution, with emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities include installing, disconnecting, and rerouting lines; performing line switching; supporting apprentices; and ensuring timely documentation and field workmanship. OSHA 10 may be preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of lineman experience.
• Valid Class A CDL required.
• Preferred: 5+ years of lineman experience.
• OSHA 10 Certification.

Responsibilities

• Construct, maintain, and inspect transmission and distribution of electrical or power lines.
• Provide technical skills needed for reliable electrical services for the consumer.
• Connect/disconnect, install/remove, and transfer of electrical devices on customer facilities.
• Route or reroute power lines around existing lines and structures.
• Inspect and/or remove damaged power lines.
• Assist in carrying poles, digging holes, and related tasks.
• Perform line switching or sectionalizing as directed.
• Assist in on-the-job training of apprentices and crew members.
• Submit Apprentice Program documentation timely.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems on customer equipment.
• Drive bucket truck to jobsite and maintain truck stock.
• Investigate consumer complaints and make repairs to energized lines.
