Job summary

MasTec Utility Services in Fuquay-Varina, NC is seeking an OHE Lineman A to assist Journeyman Lineman and Foreman while in training. You will perform diversified work on poles, power lines, and equipment for electricity distribution, upholding safety practices and supporting the Line team.

The role involves field duties, climbing, lifting, and coordinating with crew members. Valid CDL-A is required; preferred are 5+ years of experience and OSHA 10 certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, or equivalent.
• 3 years of lineman experience.
• Valid Class A CDL is required.
• Preferred: 5 or more years of experience.
• OSHA 10 Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Construct, maintain, and inspect transmission and distribution of electrical lines.
• Provide technical skills for reliable electrical services with quality and timeliness.
• Connect/disconnect, install/remove, move, and transfer electrical devices on customer facilities.
• Route or reroute power lines around existing lines and structures.
• Inspect and/or remove damaged power lines.
• Assist in carrying poles, digging holes, and other pole work.
• Perform line switching or sectionalizing as directed.
• Assist in on-the-job training of apprentices and crew members.
• Submit Apprentice Program documentation in a timely manner.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems on customer equipment.
• Drive bucket truck to jobsite and maintain truck stock.
• Investigate consumer complaints and perform repairs as needed.
