Job summary

MasTec Utility Services in North Carolina seeks an OHE Lineman B to support Journeyman Lineman and Foreman while in training. You will assist in constructing and maintaining poles, power lines, and equipment for the transmission and distribution of electricity, always following safety practices and teaching newer apprentices.

This position involves field work with the Lineman team, learning from skilled tradespeople, and performing related duties on site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of lineman experience.
• Valid Class A CDL.

Responsibilities

• Construct, maintain, and inspect transmission and distribution lines.
• Connect, disconnect, install, and move electrical devices on customer facilities.
• Route or re-route power lines around existing lines and structures.
• Assist in setting poles, digging holes, and related operations.
• Perform line switching or sectionalizing as directed.
• Provide backup for Apprentice Lineman and assist in completion of duties.
• Submit Apprentice Program documentation on time.
• Drive bucket truck to jobsite and maintain truck stock.
• Investigate consumer complaints and perform repairs to energized distribution lines.
