Job summary

MasTec Utility Services is seeking an OHE Lineman C in Mount Airy, NC to assist Journeyman Lineman and Foreman during training. You will work on construction and maintenance of poles and power lines for transmission and distribution of electricity, learning the trade from the Lineman team.

The role involves operating with the team to ensure safe, timely, and quality electrical distribution work, with physical field responsibilities and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, or equivalent.
• 1 year of lineman experience.
• Valid Class A CDL is required.

Responsibilities

• Construct, maintain, and inspect transmission and distribution of electrical or power lines.
• Provide technical skills for operation and maintenance of reliable electrical services.
• Connect/disconnect, install and remove, move and transfer electrical devices on customers' facilities.
• Route or reroute power lines over/under existing lines and structures.
• Inspect and/or remove damaged power lines.
• Assist in carrying poles, digging holes, and setting/replacing poles.
• Perform line switching or sectionalizing as directed.
• Investigate consumer complaints and make repairs to energized distribution lines.
• Provide backup for Class B Apprentice Lineman and assist in completion of duties.
• Responsible for timely submission of Apprentice Program documentation.
• May troubleshoot electrical problems on customer equipment.
• Drive bucket truck to jobsite and maintain truck stock.
• Perform other duties as required.
