Job summary

River City Construction in Springfield, VA is seeking an Overhead 2nd Class Lineman to perform electrical work on overhead distribution systems, climb poles, and install or maintain lines and transformers.

The role requires a Class A CDL, 2+ years of experience, willingness to travel, and strict adherence to safety rules; this is a safety-sensitive position with background checks and drug testing.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in related field.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class A CDL required.
• Ability to travel and work for extended periods in different locations.

Responsibilities

• Work safely, following all safety rules and policies, while performing new construction or maintenance work of energized and de-energized overhead lines.
• Install or remove overhead conductors, poles, insulators, switches and related equipment.
• With guidance, install or remove mechanical jumpers, capacitors, regulators, transformers, transformer banks, crossarms, insulators, switches, switchgear, troubleshoot primary and secondary systems and clear faulted circuits.
• SAG conductors and Switching and Tagging procedures.
• Practice Positive Control.
• Install and remove personal and equipment grounds.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order.
• Contribute to the development and delivery of the Pre-Job Briefing.
• Work from a bucket and climb structures with own climbing tools.
