Job summary

Utility Lines Construction Services is seeking an entry-level Overhead Distribution C Lineperson to install and repair overhead distribution and transmission systems, including poles, cables, and electrical equipment, with focus on safety and quality.

Requirements include 1–2 years in electrical power line construction, ability to work long hours and travel for storm work, and a valid driver's license (CDL preferred or obtainable within 90 days).

Qualifications

• Ability to work with energized high voltage systems.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Ability to work with and around heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of proper sagging techniques.
• Some overhead maintenance experience or awareness of linework requirements.

Responsibilities

• Installing transformers, lightening arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear.
• Setting poles and anchors, stringing overhead wire, and sagging techniques.
• Troubleshooting primary and secondary systems.
• Replacing cutouts and clearing faulted circuits.
• Communicating work to property owners and preserving safety.
• Maintaining company equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Duties related to installation of overhead power supply.
• Performing new construction, maintenance or repair on energized and de-energized lines.
• Reporting safety hazards to the foreperson.
