Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a CDL-class A driver to pick up and deliver trailers between service centers and turn-points, operating tractor-trailer combinations including doubles or triples where applicable.

Responsibilities include daily pre-trip inspections, hooking/unhooking trailers, maintaining logs, and ensuring compliance with DOT and safety procedures. May include loading/unloading freight and overnight stays as schedules demand.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements.
• 1 year experience within most recent 3 years, or completion of Driver Development Course.
• Must have acceptable MVR.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under 391 FMC.
• LCV qualifications for listed states where applicable.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to hook-up and break-down sets of trailers with ~100 lb lift.
• Ability to sit for extended periods and maneuver in/out of truck.
• Follow instructions and complete required training.
• Work independently or as part of a team.
• Demonstrates initiative and motivation.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combination, including doubles/triples where applicable.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Comply with hazardous material regulations and procedures.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate with dispatch.
• May perform chaining of vehicle tires as needed.
• Load and unload freight as required.
• Comply with all laws and company policies.
