Job summary

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements.
• One year experience within the last three years, or successful completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have acceptable MVR based on hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under 391 FMC regulations.
• Long combination vehicles in AZ, CO, FL, ID, IN, KS, MT, ND, NV, OH, OK, OR, SD and UT meet LCV standards.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to hook-up and break down sets of trailers requiring ~100 pounds lift.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles/triples.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Comply with hazardous materials regulations and procedures.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate delays or problems.
• May perform chaining of vehicle tires.
• May perform duties of a city driver or dock employee when needed.
• Load and unload freight as required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
