Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a CDL A tractor-trailer driver to pick up and deliver trailers between service centers and turn-point locations. The role requires safe operation and adherence to DOT regulations.

You will perform pre-trip inspections, documentations, and coordinate with dispatch while loading and unloading freight as needed. The position involves long-haul and regional routes with overnight stays as needed.

Qualifications

• CDL A with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements; automatic transmission allowed.
• 1 year experience within last 3 years or completion of FedEx Driver Development Course.
• Must have acceptable MVR based on hiring standards.
• Must meet all DOT regulatory requirements under 49 CFR Part 383/391.
• LCV qualifications apply in specified states (AZ, CO, FL, ID, IN, KS, MT, ND, NV, OH, OK, OR, SD, UT).

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles (and triples where applicable).
• Perform daily pre-trip inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor/trailer.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Comply with DOT regulations and company safety procedures.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate delays or problems.
• May perform lifting and chaining of tires as needed.
• Load and unload freight as required.

Skills

CDL A license with doubles/triples

Hazardous materials endorsement

Tank endorsement

1 year experience (last 3 years)

MVR acceptable

DOT regulations knowledge

Basic written/verbal communication

Ability to lift 100 lbs
