Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a CDL driver to pick up and deliver trailers between Service Centers and turn-point locations. You will operate tractor-trailers, perform safety inspections, hook/unhook trailers, and maintain logs across multiple routes.

The role requires a Class A CDL with hazmat and double/triple endorsements, at least 1 year of experience or completion of the FedEx Driver Development Course, and reliable document handling. Expect varying hours and potential overnight stays.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements.
• 1 year experience within the last 3 years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) per hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under FMC 391.
• LCV qualifications for certain states where applicable.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift ~100 pounds repeatedly.
• Ability to sit, bend, twist, and climb in/out of a truck.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles (triples where applicable).
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Verify and complete required documentation.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate delays or problems.
• Load and unload freight as required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
• May perform chaining of tires or duties of city driver/dock employee.
• Perform other duties as required.
