Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a CDL Class A driver to pick up and deliver trailers between service centers and turn-points using tractor-trailer combinations. The role involves daily pre-trip inspections, wiring and securing loads, and coordinating with dispatch on arrivals and delays.

Qualified candidates have a Class A CDL with hazmat/tank endorsements and meet DOT/FMCSA requirements. Some routes may require overnight stays and LCV qualifications in eligible states.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements.
• 1 year experience within most recent 3 years, or successful completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) based on hiring standards.
• Must meet all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulatory requirements under section 391 of the FMC regulations.
• Long combination vehicles (LCV) qualifications apply in specified states including OR; meet LCV standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles; perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor and/or trailer.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports; maintain accurate daily logs.
• Comply with hazardous materials regulations and procedures; follow dispatch instructions.
• Load and unload freight as required; work safely with equipment and within DOT rules.
