FedEx Freight is seeking qualified CDL A drivers to pick up and deliver trailers between Service Centers and turn-points using tractor-trailer combinations. The role requires safe driving, pre-trip inspections, securing loads, and meticulous documentation.

Employee will follow dispatch instructions, maintain logs, and comply with DOT regulations. Some schedules may involve overnight stays and may include city-driver or dock duties as needed.

Formación

• Must possess a class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with double/triple, hazardous materials and tank endorsements; Automatic transmission CDL restriction allowed.
• Must have 1 year experience within most recent 3 years, or successful completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) based on hiring standards.
• Must meet all DOT regulatory requirements under 391 FMC regulations.
• LCV knowledge applies in listed states including OR; meet LCV standards.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift approximately 100 pounds for hooking/unhooking trailers.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Demonstrates initiative and motivation.

Responsabilidades

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles (and triples where applicable).
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from tractor and/or trailer.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Comply with hazardous materials regulations and procedures.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate with dispatch about delays or problems.
• May be required to perform chaining of vehicle tires.
• Load and unload freight as required.
• Comply with all laws, regulations, and company policies.
