Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a CDL A driver to pick up and deliver trailers between Service Centers and turn-point locations. The role involves operating tractor-trailer combinations, performing pre-trip inspections, and maintaining logs in a safety-conscious environment.

Applicants must possess hazmat endorsements and meet DOT/FMCSA requirements. The position may include overnight stays and varied schedules depending on operational needs.

Qualifications

• CDL A with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements; automatic transmission allowed.
• 1 year driving experience within the last 3 years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• MVR meets company standards.
• DOT FMC regulations knowledge under 391.
• LCV operations in specified states; meet minimum standards.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to hook/unhook sets of trailers with lifting demands.
• Able to sit for extended periods; bend, twist, and climb in/out of truck.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete training.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Demonstrates initiative and motivation.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles (and triples where applicable).
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from tractor or trailer.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and procedures.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate with dispatch.
• Load and unload freight as required.
• Comply with all laws and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
