Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a skilled CDL-A driver to pick up and deliver trailers between service centers and turn-points using tractor-trailer combinations. You will perform daily pre-trip inspections, hook/unhook equipment, and maintain logs while following dispatch instructions.

The role requires a Class A CDL with hazmat and tank endorsements, plus relevant experience or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development. Safety, compliance, and teamwork are essential in this position.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements. Automatic restriction allowed.
• Must have 1 year experience within last 3 years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Must meet all DOT regulatory requirements under 391 FMC regulations.
• LCV experience required in specified states; knowledge of triple trailers and turnpike doubles may be needed.
• Ability to lift approx. 100 pounds and handle trailer connections; good physical condition.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer including doubles (and triples where applicable).
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections of equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies from tractors and trailers.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate delays or problems.
