Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a professional truck driver to pick up and deliver trailers between Service Centers and turn-point locations using tractor-trailer combinations.

The role requires a Class A CDL with HazMat and Tank endorsements, and could involve a Driver Development Course. Responsibilities include pre-trip inspections, loading/unloading freight, accurate logs, and DOT compliance. Some routes may require LCV qualifications or city/dock duties.

Qualifications

• CDL-A with double/triple, HazMat and Tank endorsements; Automatic allowed.
• 1 year experience within last 3 years or FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have acceptable MVR per hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT 391 FMC regs.
• LCV qualifications for specified states; meet minimum standards.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to hook up and break down trailers requiring ~100 lb lift.
• Ability to sit, bend, twist, climb in/out of truck.
• Ability to work independently or as a team; show initiative.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer including doubles (triples where applicable).
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Comply with hazardous material regulations and procedures.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate issues.
• May perform chaining of vehicle tires.
• May perform city driver or dock duties as needed.
• Load and unload freight as required.
• Comply with laws and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
