Job summary

Urban Design Solar is seeking experienced closers to sell Generac Home Standby Generators through in-home consultations. You will educate homeowners on backup power, present financing options, and close deals from first appointment to signing.

The role emphasizes autonomy, a proven sales record, and the ability to build trust with homeowners. Expect uncapped commissions and the opportunity to add related home services for increased earnings.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and clean driving record

You will run in-home consultations with homeowners, educate them on backup power and home energy solutions, and close deals from first appointment to signed contract. This role rewards people who can build trust quickly, handle objections confidently, and close on value-not pressure.

What You Will Be Doing

• Conduct in-home consultations with homeowners interested in standby generators.
• Perform site assessments to determine the right generator size and installation requirements.
• Educate customers on backup power, outage preparedness, fuel options, and how their generator will actually work.
• Walk customers through financing options, warranties, maintenance plans, and installation timelines.
• Team up with engineering, permitting, operations, and installation to get every project done right.
• Keep your CRM sharp - accurate customer records and pipeline activity, every time.
• Follow up quickly and professionally and treat every question like it matters (because it does).
• Earn referrals the old-fashioned way: by delivering an experience worth talking about.

Who We Are Looking For

• Proven experience in in-home residential sales (roofing, HVAC, solar, windows, home improvement, etc.)
• Experience selling back up power solutions (Generac, Kohler, Cummins, Briggs & Stratton)
• A track record of closing deals and earning commission-based income
• Comfortable being fully accountable for results
• Strong communication skills and the ability to read the room
• Disciplined and independent-this role offers freedom, not hand-holding
• Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and clean driving record
• Ability to pass a background check
• HIS License required (can be obtained after hire)

Nice To Have (Not Required)

• Generator or solar sales experience
• Knowledge of Generac Home Standby Generators
• Plumbing or electrical background
• Familiarity with building codes and AHJ requirements
