Carter Lumber is seeking an Outside Sales Representative in Cleveland to build and maintain relationships with local contractors, builders and remodelers, selling our full line of building materials and installed services.

The role emphasizes prospecting, account development, job-site visits, and strong communication. You will manage projects from quote to delivery, with commission-based earning and growth opportunities within a family-owned, values-driven company.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales.
• Knowledge of home building basics.
• Create material estimates/quotes and special orders.
• Open new accounts on a monthly/quarterly basis.
• Learn to read blueprints and provide material take-off lists.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Attend HBA/builder/company functions as required.

Responsibilities

• Sell our full line of building materials and installed services to local contractors, builders and remodelers.
• Manage post-sale relationships and project timetables.
• Visit job sites as needed and maintain schedules.
• Apply proven sales strategies and effective communication to close deals.
